I am a developer at Vivaldi and have been here since day one (October 2013). I live and work in Reykjavík, Iceland.

In the beginning, I was all over the code, just getting the initial thing working, along with all the other developers. But pretty soon I got tempted to start working on the Vivaldi Mail client, which will be part of the browser soon. That project is a big challenge and therefore really interesting and fun.

When I was 14 years old, I decided I wanted to be a programmer. That was long before the days of the Internet or operating systems with windows. My first computer had a Z80 processor and my first steps of programming were on that. It taught me a lot.

I moved to California to finish my degree in Computer Science. I really loved California but that also taught me to appreciate even more the strange land that I come from and there was never a question in my mind that I would move back right after my studies.

Before joining Vivaldi, I worked on various software projects from games to financial systems, mostly on the backend of things. I have developed in C++, Java, Python and now, here at Vivaldi, I am almost entirely working with Javascript.

Outside of work, I love being outside! When I was younger I wanted to do pole vaulting, then went into mountaineering, which then evolved into snowboarding and mountain biking. I find that I need a lot of motion to counteract the office chair. To do this, I’ve also tried martial arts and cold water swimming. I don’t have the zen to sit and watch television, so in the evenings at home, I will rather read or write.

Vivaldi is a great place to work. The challenges are intriguing and the team is a bunch of interesting people from different parts of the world.

Our beautiful, little browser is a product that I’ve grown to love and I am proud to recommend it to anyone as the best browser around.
